Set permissions and roles

Use role-based access to keep OXVO secure and operationally clear.

Built-In Roles

  • Administrator: full workspace configuration and management.
  • Agent: operational support access.

Custom Roles (If Enabled)

Custom roles can grant specific permission bundles, including:

  • Conversation management scopes
  • Contact/report/knowledge permissions
  • Sessions permissions (SESSION_REPLAY, METRICS, ASSIST_LIVE, ASSIST_CALL, DATA_MANAGEMENT, SESSION_REPLAY_ADMIN)

Role Design Pattern

  1. Define role by job function, not person.
  2. Grant minimum required permissions.
  3. Validate with test accounts before broad assignment.
  4. Review every quarter.

Access Validation Checklist

  • Sidebar visibility matches expected permissions.
  • Restricted pages return access denial for non-authorized users.
  • Sessions menu access follows policy.
  • Agent membership page: Open Team Management
  • Role management page: Open Custom Roles

Warning: Avoid assigning administrator role as a shortcut for missing permission mapping.
